After my motorcycle recommendations in previous issues , many of you may not be able to suppress your inner impulse and have paid special attention to motorcycles helmet

First of all, motorcycle helmets are divided into four categories:
1. Full-face helmet
2. Remove the helmet
3. 3/4 helmet
4. Half Helmet
Safety levels are divided into: full face helmet > flip-up helmet > 3/4 helmet > half face helmet
So how do you choose a motorcycle helmet? Let’s take a look at a picture first.
Shell : Most of the ones on the market use ABS engineering plastics, the better ones use glass fiber, and then the top-level carbon fiber.
Buffer layer : Made of high-density polystyrene EPS foam, it is the most important component of the helmet for protection.
Lenses : windproof, sandproof and sunproof, available in a variety of colors.
Lining : determines the comfort of the helmet.
The next step is to choose a helmet! Only when it fits your head shape can you wear it comfortably.
Most Asians have round heads, while Europeans and Americans have oval heads.
Asian head types can be selected: Shoei, Arai, LS2, etc.
European and American head shapes available:AGV, Shark, etc. I have to say that helmets with European and American head shapes are much more handsome.
The second thing is the head circumference. Use a soft tape measure to wrap around your head above the brow bone. The number you get is the head circumference. Then choose the appropriate size according to the merchant’s size chart.
In terms of comfort, ventilation and lining should be considered.
Let’s talk about ventilation first. A good ventilation environment can prevent the exhaled hot air from forming mist on the lens, and it can also provide a good breathing environment for cycling and provide better safety protection for cycling.
The lining not only improves comfort and stability, it also reduces impact force in the event of an accident.
Helmet fabrics mainly include:
Velvet: Very comfortable and soft.
Coolmax: breathable and sweat-wicking.
Leather: Easy to clean.
It is worth mentioning that there is also a 3D full-range Type IV lining, but it has been bought out by SHOEI and other brands cannot use it, so SHOEI’s helmet is first-class in terms of comfort.
Of course, the most important thing about a helmet is safety, so when buying a helmet, you must also pay attention to the safety certification!
